vpbrjaus.jpgFor the first time in Australia the Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam was hosted at Mt Buller on Saturday July 19, 2008. With four divisions (Open, Girl’s, 15 - 17’s and Grommets), there were plenty of prizes and product awarded throughout the day for all competitors.

The Peanut Butter Rail Jam is Volcom’s amateur snowboard contest series, which is part of the “Let The Kids Ride Free” program, a grass roots effort for kids of all ages to express their talent, gain competition experience and have a good time. All about fun, the event had 83 competitors in total, and over 70 spectators enjoying the free barbeque lunch which included peanut butter and jam sandwiches!

Mt Buller Parks (MBP) crew worked set up the Skyline Park specifically for the event to include a park bench, street rail and a down-flat-down box.

First place in the Open division went to Matthew Sedunary, second place awarded to Jason Maxfield and Mitchell Williams taking home the third place position.

MBP will also be opening further terrain parks in the near future, with construction underway on the Summit Jumps Park, Kofler’s Park and the Half-pipe.
