The 08/09 season of the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour has only started but young and talented riders are already taking over the scene and the Swatch TTR Rankings thanks to an unbelievably consistent performance. One of the most impressive riders was the 19-year old James Hamilton from Auckland, New Zealand. Thanks to the support of the home crowd at the first Swatch TTR events the young rider fought his way up to the World No. 1 spot.
James placed 8th in the Halfpipe of the 5Star Burton New Zealand Open and 11th in the Slopestyle format against the best riders of the Tour. He continued his strong riding at the 3Star Billabong Snow Stock two weeks later where he placed 11th. We can look forward to the next events on the Tour in Australia, the 4Star Oakley Stylewars and the 3Star Boost Mobile Sno Sho presented by Samsung, where the battle for the World No. 1 spot will surely be continued and fierce competition is awaiting Hamilton.
